A picture of me and my grandfather

My grandfather died when I was around 4 years old. His name was Shah Muhammad Abdur Rakib. He had 10 children- 8 sons, and 2 daughters. Half of them died briefly after they were born leaving him with 5 children- 4 sons and 1 daughter. He was known as a great Alim in Bangladesh. He learned in Saudi Arabia. He was well known in our village and when people needed duwa they asked him to make it for them. He was well devoted into being a great Muslim and I am sure that he was.  He was paralyzed. He used to pray sitting down. There were sometimes when he prayed with his eyes.  When I asked someone about how he was paralyzed, they told me that he was sitting down on the porch steps when the sun was setting. They told me not to sit on the floor outside at that time or I will be paralyzed just like my grandfather. When he was resting, some of my cousins and I used to bother him and then run away leaving him screaming at us.  After he died, I attended his funeral. His oldest son and my eldest uncle, Moulana Shamsul Huda, led his funeral. Then the village people carried his casket and went to bury him. His grave is located in our village Ashigor, Fenchugoinj, Bangladesh on a very high hill next to the great wali Shah Amin. There are about 100 steps to climb to reach his grave. Now, people go to make ziyarat to his grave. He left his 4 sons to follow his footsteps and be great Alims. This shows that he was indeed a great huzoor.

Narrations by Abu Huraira

1-

قال النبي ‏ ‏صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ ‏كلمتان حبيبتان إلى الرحمن خفيفتان على اللسان ثقيلتان في الميزان سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم

The Prophet said, "(There are) two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light (easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance. They are: 'Subhan Allah wa-bi hamdihi' and 'Subhan Allah Al-'Azim."

                                                                                                                                                                                             Bukhari

2-

Narrated by Abu 'Abd al-Rahman 'Abdullah bin 'Umar bin al-Khattab, radiyallahu 'anhuma, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, say:

"Islam has been built upon five things - on testifying that there is no god save Allah, and that Muhammad is His Messenger; on performing salah; on giving the zakah; on Hajj to the House; and on fasting during Ramadhan."

[Al-Bukhari & Muslim]
